(A song dedicated to all those who pursue thier dreams, goals and passions instead of just talking about them.)

She's a dancer, in a topless bar, her life's that pole and tips in a jar
She dreamed of dancing in the ballet, but living for the moment got in her way

Another story of life compromised, she'll make excuses and rationalize
The sting of fate well it's always there, she could change it all, if only she dared

Everyday's a chance to start, to live the passion within your heart
So take a chance for parts unknown
You may crash but at least you'll have flown

I heard the writer discussing his book, a best seller ‘bout a cop and a crook
But he hasn't written a single page, he's too busy being a barroom sage

Another story of life compromised, he'll make excuses and rationalize
The sting of fate well it's always there, he could change it, if only he dared

Everyday's a chance to start, to live the passion within your heart
So take the chance for those parts unknown
You may crash but at least you'll have flown

A single step in a thousand miles, is more than nothing and after a while
Those single steps you'll start to see, finally add up to where you want to be

If your lights are burning low
Turn them up so you can see
Your hopes are finally rising high, you're no longer empty

Too many times we stop at the brink, but our destination isn't as far as we think
So shake the past and its vice-like grip, the time has come to start your trip

A single step in a thousand miles, is more than nothing and after a while
Those single steps you'll start to see, finally add up to where you want to be
So take the chance for those parts unknown
You may crash but at least you'll have flown

Background information about the Sting of Fate

A song dedicated to all of those who pursue their dreams,
goals and passions, instead of just talking about them. This was inspired
by the concept of self-actualization, made most widely- known by
American psychologist Abraham Maslow [1908-1970] pertaining to
his theory of The Hierarchy of Needs.
