(A musical interpretation of the allegory of the cave from
Book VII of Plato's Republic)

Echos and darkness,
the only world they've ever known
Until finally one broke free
And cast a shadow of his own

Chained in the darkness, of their minds
Their blind ignorance, controls their lives

A new life awaits you,
but you must erase what you have learned
Those nightmares inside your mind,
just like a fire, still can burn

Run from the darkness, into the light
No one controls you, ‘cause you've won the fight

See the shadows on the wall,
with each new fear they rise and fall
When we rise above darkened skies,
we can tell the truth from the lies

If we don't question what we see,
it's real to us; our destiny
Walking towards the light we'll see
The truth will set us free

Set us free

And I can't close my eyes
because I might be taken over
by these thoughts inside of me

Who knows what will be?
When will I finally be free?
